We receive regular requests from technical communicators, illustrators, and Web developers for "volunteer" projects that can help someone new to the field gain some work experience, add to their portfolio, and benefit from some technical and professional guidance.
We'd like to suggest that those who are interested and may be between projects volunteer to put your skills to good use for a worthy cause. There are many Web sites that can introduce you to excellent volunteer opportunities with established organizations that need your help. We'd be happy to support you with QA or editing assistance.
